Before starting to seek out potential investors for the project, Williams Caribbean Capital (WCC), has been performing the initial tasks including investigating the viability of the project and establishing a rate for the electricity, negotiating the PPA with BLPC and partnering with the IDB.

A key directive from the GoB was that this GEP project is to be developed with no direct support from the Barbados taxpayers and no “tipping” fee for persons bringing municipal waste to the facility

.

Commercial Philosophy

The GEP will be developed, designed and operated as a fully functional, profit generating business that will operate in a sustainable and world class manner.

Multiple stakeholders will be involved with all development work carried out in an open and transparent process with WCC having overall responsibility to ensure all parties involved are completing their tasks in an efficient and timely manner.

A philosophy will be adopted whereby all technologies and operations have been fully proven in operating facilities around the world.  Proven best in class technology and people will be the guiding principle.
